BigMedilytics at the meeting on Digital Innovation Hubs on Big Data and AI

23 November, 2018

The BigMedilytics project was exposed during the Digital Innovation Hubs Working Group Meeting on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, organized by the European Commission in collaboration with the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) this month in Brussels. The main aspects of the project were described by Prof. Dr Milan Petković from Philips as an example of a big data initiative in health.

The working group meeting on Big Data explored how Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) can help boost the uptake of this technology and contribute to benefit the economy and society through the use of the potential of digital data.

This relevant event collected input for the definition of the Big Data Innovation Hubs in the upcoming open call DT-ICT-05 of the European Union research and innovation funding programme Horizon 2020, and the update requirements for the BDVA Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).

The conclusions of the session were also valuable to pave the way towards the establishment of a European network of Digital Innovation Hubs linking Artificial Intelligence, Cloud/High Performance Computing and/or cybersecurity capacities, and to contribute to the discussions about the European Data Space for prototyping, experimentation, incubation and skills development.
