What are cookies?

They are small files or devices that are downloaded to the user’s terminal equipment regardless of their character, and in order to store data that can be updated and retrieved by the entity responsible for their installation.

What do they allow?

What types of cookies are there?

According to the entity that manages them, own cookies are those that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the publisher and from which the service requested by the user is provided. Third party cookies are those that are sent or served to the user’s terminal equipment from other domains or computers not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

According to the activation time, the session cookies are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses the web page in order to store information that only interests to keep for the provision of the service requested by the user. Regarding permanent cookies, the data is still stored in the user’s terminal and can be accessed and processed during a period defined by the responsible entity for the cookie.

Depending on the purpose, technical cookies allow the user to navigate through the platform and use the different options or services provided through it, for example, control traffic and data communication, identify the session, access restricted access parts, remember the elements that make up a contractual request, use security elements during navigation, store content for the distribution of videos or sound or share content through social networks.

Personalization cookies refer to those that allow the user to access the service with some predefined characteristics based on certain criteria associated with his/her own terminal, for example, the type of browser through which he/she access the service, the regional configuration from which he/she access to service, etc.

Analysis cookies allow the entity responsible for them to monitor and analyze the behavior of the users of the websites to which they are linked. The information collected through this type of cookies is used in the measurement of the activity of the websites, application or platform and for the elaboration of navigation profiles of the users of these sites, applications and platforms, in order to introduce improvements according to the analysis of the data of use made by the users of the service.

Advertising cookies are those that allow the management, in the most efficient way possible, of the advertising spaces that, if applicable, the editor has included in a website, application or platform from which it provides the requested service based on criteria such as the edited content or the frequency in which the ads are displayed.

The behavioral advertising cookies are those that allow the management, in the most efficient way possible, of the advertising spaces that, if applicable, the publisher has included in a website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided. These cookies store information on the behavior of users obtained through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on it.
