Recommendations for a secure access and exchange of health data

The health sector is facing a paramount challenge especially important during COVID-19 pandemic: how to exchange and grant access to health data in a secure way enforcing the current national and European regulations. This was the topic of the webinar on the 14th of May as part of the online sessions organized by the Big Data Value Public-Private Partnership replacing the BDV PPP Summit that should have taken place in Porto, Portugal.

The session was focused on several approaches across Europe by three EU-funded projects -BigMedilytics, BodyPass, and DeepHealth- to face the mentioned challenge. The BigMedilytics project presented the experience of two of its pilots within the theme of Population Health and Chronic Disease Management: Comorbidities and Heart Failure.

As a result of the webinar, the three projects have compiled in an infographic the main recommendations for secure access and exchange of health data.
